Qigong

Qigong (literally translated as Energy Work) is similar to Tai Ji in that they are a group of movements that are performed slowly, and in time with the breath. One of the main differences, however, is that in Qigong, one movement is taken and repeated often (maybe 20 or 30 times, or perhaps for 5 or 10 minutes). Each Qigong exercise is specific to certain ailments and conditions – for example, someone with asthma would be offered the Wave Arms Over Lake Qigong (link), someone who has difficulty sleeping would be offered the Sage Presents Peach Qigong (link). There are many thousands of different types, styles and schools of Qigong, and at Harmonious Health we are fortunate enough to have at out disposal a selection of Qigong from the three different Qigong branches, enabling us to be confident, competent practitioners and facilitators of this powerful, simple exercise system.
